This is my 3rd visit to this little restaurant called Rumahku and I think it is a good time to say something about it. My first visit there was about 3 weeks back when my sister-in-law and other relatives were back in KL for a week. We had such great food that evening and vowed to return. So, since then, we have visited the place twice more.
Recommendations
Indonesian Claypot Curry Prawns (small, RM20/-) is a very rich creamy curry with lots of curry leaves on it. It is cooked in a claypot and best eaten with white rice.
Portuguese Fish is a sweet and mildly spiced fried fish fillet with a creamy mayonnaise like sauce with spices over it. It is also best to have this dish with white rice.
Fried Spinach with Garlic is a very normal dish available in nearly every restaurant, whether it’s Chinese Restaurant or Malay Restaurant. However, if you go to the brickfields outlet of Rumahku and asked the cook there to shred the spinach, the results can be quite amazing. The picture below is a standard version that we had in the Jalan Universiti outlet.
Brinjals (Eggplant/Aubergines) with Belacan was very well cooked, on the two occasions that we ordered it. The texture of the skin of the brinjals was correct whilst the inside was soft without it being detached from the skin.
Last but not leave, a desert to recommend. Their chocolate cake is really rich and served slightly warm. Before I could take a picture of it, my kids were already at it!

Rumahku is located at 6, Jalan Universiti (right in front of the exit from University Hospital, next to the scuba diving school) whilst their brickfields outlet is a few doors from Sin Kee Restaurant, or opposite what was once the Shell Station corner in front of Sri Kota Supermarket.
